The impact of a summer spent at Kutz is an experience unmatched by any other. With an understanding of difficult financial times, Kutz is dedicated to working with you and your family to do our best in enabling every teen who wants to attend the NFTY Leadership Experience with the ability to attend. It is our hope that between your family, help from organizations, and camp, we will be able to reach the goal of you joining us for a summer in Warwick.

It’s okay to ask! You’ll never know if you are eligible for scholarships unless you ask!
Below are some suggested steps for your search for scholarships to camp.
STEP 1: Register for camp! Consider going ahead and registering for camp. Many organizations will not consider scholarship applications until you are registered for camp.
STEP 2: Foundation for Jewish Camp’s First Year Initiative Grant. If this is your first year at an overnight Jewish summer camp, you may be eligible for a $1000 incentive grant! Visit www.onehappycamper.org to see if you are eligible!
STEP 3: Local Community Sources. Most congregations have scholarships and discretionary funds available to support their congregants. Contact your Rabbi, Cantor, and Educator to start your inquiries for financial support for camp. Reach out to your congregational Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Youth Group, and any other groups within your congregation. When talking with these members, don’t forget to highlight that Kutz is a leadership camp and you will bring back lots of knowledge from camp to your congregation!
Look throughout your community for other Jewish organizations, such as the Jewish Federation (local or regional). Find out if there are any funds available, but make sure to ask early!
Check with your NFTY Region on any regional scholarships available for Kutz. Be in touch with your regional advisor to find out more information. *See below for more regional scholarship information.
STEP 4: Family Contribution. Figure out how much your family can afford to contribute and start now. Your contributions help to show your commitment to the Kutz experience.
STEP 5: Extended Family. Reach out to your family members (and family friends). Families provide much support for all events throughout life, let’s add camp to that! Giving money for camp is a great gift for birthdays, Chanukah, or other occasions.
Do any of your family members or family friends travel often and have extra frequent flier miles? See about getting frequent flier miles donated to you for your travel to camp!
STEP 6: Kutz Based Opportunities. Kutz Work Study Application The Work Study program at Kutz is a financial-need based scholarship done on a matching basis with one’s home synagogue. Participants agree to do light chores in the dining room and other areas of camp for about four-five hours per week. This application is online and includes parent income information as well as teen questionnaire. (Application can be found below)
Kutz Fellowship This merit-based fellowship is designed for a select group of up to ten highly motivated Reform Jewish high school students interested in taking their Kutz experience to the next level. In addition to the general Kutz program, Fellows engage in special programming throughout the summer, and then work during the year to apply what they’ve learned at camp to a self-directed project in their home congregation, youth group, regional camp or NFTY Region (or combination thereof). Fellows receive a $1000 scholarship for attendance at Kutz during the summer. (Application can be found below)
*In order to apply for any Kutz scholarships, you must first register for the camp program.
STEP 7: Thank You! Make sure to thank the people who helped you get to where you are! Hand written thank you notes, follow ups after the summer, sharing your experiences, are all extremely important to show your appreciation for other’s support. Remember, these people helped make your experience.
